About Retirevia
Written with Care,
Read at Your Own Pace
Retirevia develops educational reading materials that explain retirement income systems and the practical realities of leaving full-time work. We write clearly, without jargon, for people who want to understand — not to be told what to do.
Back to HomeOur Story
Where Retirevia Began
Retirevia was founded in Bangkok by a small group of researchers and educators who noticed a recurring gap: many working people in Thailand approaching retirement had no straightforward source of information about how pension and retirement income systems actually function. Financial product brochures were written to sell, not to explain. Online searches returned foreign content that did not apply. Colleagues relied on secondhand accounts.
The founding team began drafting plain-language reading materials to fill that space — structured documents that a working professional could read in a spare afternoon and come away genuinely better informed. The first self-study pack was piloted with a group of employees at a Bangkok-based manufacturer in late 2021. The feedback was direct: people wanted more, wanted it organized by topic, and wanted it available in print.
Since then, Retirevia has expanded to include the Retirement Transition Reading Series for individuals, and a structured corporate program for employers who want to support employees approaching the end of their working careers. The approach has stayed consistent: educational, informational, and written for the reader — not for the product.
Mission & Values
What We Stand For
Clarity Over Complexity
Retirement income systems involve real complexity. Our job is to present that complexity in a way that is accurate and accessible, without simplifying to the point of being misleading.
Respect for the Reader
We write for adults who are capable of drawing their own conclusions. Our materials inform; they do not tell people what to do with their money or their time.
Editorial Independence
Retirevia has no affiliations with financial product providers, insurance companies, or fund managers. Our materials are funded by program fees, not by product commissions.
Local Relevance
Everything we write is grounded in the Thai retirement landscape — the Social Security Fund, the Government Pension Fund, provident fund structures, and the everyday realities of retirement life in Thailand.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Editorial Review Process
Every reading module goes through a two-stage review — first for factual accuracy against official Thai regulatory sources, then for language clarity and reading level.
No Product Endorsements
Our materials do not mention, recommend, or link to any financial product, fund, or service provider. This is a firm editorial standard, not a disclaimer.
Data Privacy Practices
Participant data collected through program registration is used only for delivery and communication purposes. We do not share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
Annual Content Updates
Retirement system rules and contribution thresholds change over time. All reading materials are reviewed and updated at least once per year against current Thai regulatory sources.
Reader Feedback Integration
We collect structured feedback from participants after each program and use it to identify sections that need clearer explanation or additional examples in future editions.
Plain Language Commitment
All materials target a reading level suitable for a general adult audience. Technical terms are explained on first use, and legal language is paraphrased rather than quoted verbatim.
Our Expertise
Retirement Education in Thailand: What We Know and Why It Matters
Thailand operates a multi-layer retirement income system that includes mandatory contributions through the Social Security Fund for private-sector employees, the Government Pension Fund for civil servants, and a range of voluntary supplementary vehicles such as Retirement Mutual Funds (RMF) and Provident Funds. For most people, the interaction between these layers is poorly understood — not because the topic is inherently difficult, but because accessible explanations written for a general audience have been scarce.
At Retirevia, our work focuses on closing that information gap. The reading materials we produce explain how each part of the system works in straightforward terms, what the transition from full-time employment to retirement typically involves in practical terms, and what kinds of questions individuals and families are worth discussing well before the relevant dates arrive.
The corporate pre-retirement program addresses a specific organizational need: many Thai employers have no structured way to support employees who are departing due to retirement. HR teams often lack the time or materials to provide useful orientation, and the result is that employees leave without a clear understanding of what comes next. Our program provides a complete, ready-to-use educational package that HR coordinators can deploy without requiring specialist knowledge themselves.
All programs are developed in Bangkok and are written with Thai regulatory context as the primary reference. We do not use foreign retirement planning frameworks without clearly noting where they differ from the Thai context. This local grounding is central to the usefulness of everything we produce.
